History of SWABCHA

The Swaziland Business Coalition on HIV and AIDS (SWABCHA) was formed in 2001 under the auspices of the Federation of Swaziland Employers and Chamber of Commerce (FSE&CC). In 2008, SWABCHA registered as an independent, non-profit organization. It is a unique partnership of business leaders, labour unions, employers and employees both in the formal and the informal sector.

SWABCHA is guided by a Business Plan 2009-2012 which defines SWABCHA strategic, financial, and organisational priorities. The Business Plan links directly to the National Multi-sectoral Strategic Framework for HIV and AIDS 2009 – 2014 (NSF). In the NSF, SWABCHA is designated as the coordinating/umbrella body for the private sector response to HIV and AIDS.
